It is all but time for Simerjit Singh’s ‘Mar Gaye Oye Loko’ to hit the silver screens. The movie, which is expected to be high on a comic dose, is all in readiness to be up for grabs on this Friday, i.e., August 31. In which was a promised land for viewers, the trailer of the movie was released on the official YouTube channel of Humble Music. At the time of writing this article, it has received a whopping nine-million+ views on the same platform.
The movie will mark the third Punjabi movie of Gippy Grewal this year. In which will be a fresh pairing on-screen, Sapna Pabbi will be seen making her debut in the Punjabi film industry in this movie. Apart from this lead pair, the movie stars Jaswinder Bhalla, Gurpreet Ghuggi, BN Sharma, Karamjit Anmol, Hobby Dhaliwal, Raghveer Boli, Jaggi Singh, Baninder Bunny and Gurpreet Bhangu.
Mar Gaye Oye Loko is based on the concept of mistaken identity. What differs it from other movies is that the identity is mistaken in the so-called parlok, which is likely to become the USP of this movie. The presence of various eminent names in the cast gives the audiences enough assurance of the movie being a laugh riot, something which will make them laugh to the core. Given the audiences fixation with the project during the build-up to the movie, it is likely to stand tall at the box-office as well.
Being directed by Simerjit Singh, the movie is made by someone who has delivered successful Punjabi movies in the past. In which will be his third attempt, the movie is written by Gippy Grewal himself. Having gained accolades in the first two attempts (‘Ardaas‘ and ‘Manje Bistre‘), he would be confident that the viewers would throw wax lyrical about this movie as well.
Gippy Grewal has also produced Mar Gaye Oye Loko under his home production, Humble Motion Pictures. The movie is co-produced by Ravneet Kaur Grewal. The movie will face competition at the box-office from Navaniat Singh’s ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana: Phir Se’ and Amar Kaushik’s ‘Stree’. The former per se can affect the numerics due to the influence of Punjabi culture in it.
