In what will be another effort to end the year 2017 on a high for the Punjabi film industry, Ajit R. Rajpal’s ‘Hard Kaur’ will hit the big screen tomorrow, i.e., 15/12/2017. With run-of-the-mill businesses of ‘Sardar Mohammad’ and ‘Sat Shri Akaal England’, the onus of delivering the last hit of 2018 in the Punjabi industry now falls on Hard Kaur.
For a Punjabi movie whose cast is predominantly comprised of fresh faces, achieving such a feat is no mean task. Having said that, there is something about the trailer which tempts one to consider the option of visiting the cinema halls tomorrow. It is evident from the trailer that the movie is based on the story of six Sikh women who come from different cities (of Punjab) and backgrounds and even differ in age, but, fight against the social evils prevailing in the society.
The movie is written and directed by Ajit R.Rajpal. It is being produced by Rajpal, himself, along with Rakesh Chaudhary, Suresh Chaudhary and Wasim Pasha under the banner of Delhiwood Studios. White Hill Studios is distributing the movie across the country. Shoeb Siddiqui has performed the role of DOP in the movie which is edited by Raj Nalla.
Former Miss India UK, Deana Uppal, is playing the lead role in the movie along with Drishti Grewal, who has earlier featured in ‘Romeo Ranjha’ and ‘Mitti Na Pharol Jogiya’. Nirmal Rishi, a legendary name in the Punjabi movie industry, will also be seen in the movie. Apart from them, Neet Kaur, Swati Bakshi, Chetanya Kanhai, Tanvir Singh and Shashi Kiran will be seen playing pivotal roles in Hard Kaur.
The songs of the movie have been penned down by Anil Jeengar, Rajveer Singh Prajapati, A.M. Turaj and Kunwar Waraich. Nooran Sisters, Prabh Gill, Nachattar Gill and Aman Tirkha have lent their voices to the songs of the movie.
It is too early to speak anything about the outcome of the movie, but, one has to credit the team for completing a good-looking project. Hard Kaur will be one of those very few Punjabi movies which are deprived of an acclaimed male actor in the cast. If it does well at the box-office, it might also end up being a landmark movie in that aspect, putting an end to the cliche of necessarily having a male actor in the movie.
We, at Punjabi Mania, would like to wish the whole team of Hard Kaur good luck for the movie. If you are planning to watch the movie tomorrow, do tell us in the comments section about your views regarding the same. Watch the trailer below:
