After showing her acting skills in IK KUDI PUNJAB DI, Batihinda Girl Jaspinder Cheema, will now entertain the audience in her upcoming punjabi movies. She wants to create her own identity with her actin skills in the industry. Mangla Sahni talks to her for Punjabi Mania about her movies and ambitions.
Hailing from small town and from the service class background, it was not easy for Jaspinder Cheema to make his identity in the Punjabi industry but it was not impossibleeither. Born and brought up in Bathinda, she completed her Masters in theater from Punjab University, Chandigarh.
Sharing about her journey in the industry thus far ,she says ‘I always wanted to become IPS officer But in 2008 I participated in the beauty contest and have been crowned as Miss PTC Punjabi 2008 made me more interested in acting .Then I taken the admission in M.A theatre which sown the seeds of acting in me. I still remember the day when I was doing my play in the university ’Ishq Hai’ and Manji ji and Arminder Gill with Rana Ranbir were present and I think they were the keys send to me by the god and Manji ji offered the role for the film ‘Ik Kudi Punjab Di ‘and thus my journey has been started. Now I have completed with the shooting of two new upcoming Punjabi movies’ ’Don’t Worry Yaar’’ by Preet Harpal and ‘Hundi Veera Naal Sardari ‘by Harinder Gill
While she always had her eye set on her goals, she never ignored her study .She emphasizes, ‘That still I have the dreams of becoming an IPS officer and I am always inspired by the personality of Kiran Bedi.Infact she is my role model who always motivated me to work in the field . Being a women the passion which she possess always inspired me to do something for the society ,specially for girls.I thank my parents, who have supported me at every step of my life. I want to make my own identity in the society so that tomorrow when I go from this world, people remember me of my good work and actions. Sharing more she says, her eyes set on Pollywood but say she would prefer quality cinema. “There are no yardsticks for success but I know that slow and steady wins the race.
For the future she hopes that she fares well with the audience in both her movies .She also wishes that her dream of becoming IPS officer should come true.
