Dev Kharoud’s baptism into commercial cinema: Actor Dev Kharoud will be seen in a different avatar in his upcoming movie named ‘Kaka Ji’.
Over the last few years, Dev Kharoud’s acting journey has come under everyone’s nose. From working in theatrical plays to TV serials to movies being shelved to not getting any work at all in movies, Kharoud has now turned the tables to become an A-list actor in Punjab.
Having delivered three super-hit movies in as many years, Kharoud has officially announced himself in the elite list of leading actors in the Punjabi film industry. That being said, if reaching from nowhere to this position was tough, sustaining his place over here is likely to be much tougher.
Kharoud, who made his debut in 2010, made a name for himself in after three critically and commercially acclaimed movies in ‘Rupinder Gandhi – The Gangster..?‘, ‘Rupinder Gandhi 2: The Robinhood‘ and ‘Dakuaan Da Munda‘ in as many years.
In which became a source of fascination for everyone was watching an actor rising up the ranks on the basis of doing biopics, performing real life characters in an preternatural manner. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Kharoud has traveled a different path in the film industry.
While majority of actors start with commercial cinema and eventually try their hands at challenging roles like playing a lead role in a biopic, the record books will witness Kharoud doing the contrary. Having performed toilsome roles initially, he will now be seen making an entry in the real sense in the commercial space with his imminent movie named ‘Kaka Ji‘.
Directed by Mandeep Benipal, the movie appears to be an altogether blend of genres. It is evident from the trailer of the movie that it will be a prototype movie comprising of nuances and emotions from all spheres of life. Playing the antagonist in the movie, it will be intriguing to see Kharoud’s new journey of sorts.
While there is no apprehension with respect to Kharoud as such, the feeling exhales more of curiosity regarding the movie which will be released on January 18 next year. In which is yet another test for Kharoud, he would be hoping to come out with flying colours for the audiences expect a lot from him after his recent successful spree.
