‘Laavaan Phere’ to happen on this Friday

One and a half month into 2018, it would not be wrong to say that ‘Laavaan Phere’ is the first major Punjabi movie of this year. Movies have released in this limited time period, but, have failed to allure the desired number of audiences in the cinemas. It is too early to say something, but in such chain of events, Laavaan Phere has it in it to become the first ‘Hit’ of the Punjabi movie industry in 2018.

Originally slated to release on February 9, the release of the movie was delayed by a week due to some reasons. The trailer of the movie was released more than a month ago on the official YouTube channel of T-Series Apna Punjab. At the time of writing this article, it has received over 4.3 million views on the same platform.

Smeep Kang, an eminent name in the Punjabi music industry, has directed the movie. Having directed ‘Vaisakhi List’ in 2016, he has directed a movie after almost two years. The movie also marks the debut of Karamjit Anmol as a producer in the Punjabi film industry. Producing the movie along with him are Ranjiv Singla and Prem Prakash Gupta. The movie has been produced under the banner of Karamjit Anmol Productions, Ranjiv Singla Productions and Prem Motion Pictures.

The movie stars Roshan Prince and Rubina Bajwa in lead roles. Apart from this duo, Gurpreet Ghuggi, B.N. Sharma, Anmol, Harby Sangha and Kang are expected to play pivotal roles in the movie. It is inevitable from the trailer and the promotions that the trio of Ghuggi, Anmol and Sangha, portraying the role of the three jeejas in the movie, is expected to amuse the audiences to a great extent.

The story of the movie is written by Pali Bhupinder Singh. Happy Raikoti and Jaggi Singh have penned down the songs in the movie. Gurmeet Singh, Laddi Gill, Gagz Studioz and Jaggi Singh have directed the movie musically. Ranjit Bawa, Gippy Grewal, Prince, Jassi Gill and Raikoti have lent their voices to the songs in the movie. The songs are, without a doubt, above average, but considering the names involved behind the music of the movie, the songs should have been of a much better quality.

The movie is expected to face tough competition from Neeraj Pandey’s ‘Aiyaary’, Onir’s ‘Kuch Bheege Alfaaz’ and Akshay Anand’s ‘Jaane Kyun De Yaaron’. Just like Laavaan Phere, Aiyaary is also releasing post facing a releasing conundrum and is the biggest block standing in front of the former. What might work in the favour of the Punjabi movie is that the audiences haven’t seen an impressive Punjabi movie for sometime now. Laavaan Phere, a prospect for true-blue comedy, has it in it to end the wait of the audiences.
