‘Laung Laachi’, Amberdeep Singh’s second directorial venture, is all in readiness to hit the big screens on this Friday (09/03/2018). The movie stars Amberdeep Singh, Neeru Bajwa and Ammy Virk in the lead roles. It will be clear in a couple of days time as to whether Amberdeep Singh is successful enough to don the tripartite coat of a director, writer and a lead actor at the same time.
Apart from the lead actors, the movie also stars Amrit Maan, Veet Baljit, Nirmal Rishi, Gurpreet Kaur Bhangu and Hobby Dhaliwal. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the names have it in them to whet the appetite of masses towards the cinema halls. Directed by Gurmeet Singh and DJ Flow, the music of the movie has also been to the likes of many people. The title song sung by Mannat Noor and Akhiyan Naar Diyan sung by Ammy Virk are doing the rounds amongst the audiences.
The movie has been produced by Bhagwant Virk and Nav Virk under the banner of Villagers Films Studio and Amberdeep Production. Not following the trend which is prevalent in the modern times, the makers have opted for a minimal ground promotion of the film. However, it is being extensively promoted across TV channels. In what has come as a respite for the fans, the respective social media handles of the cast haven’t been bombarded with posts or live sessions with respect to the movie, something which can be exasperating, if done in a boundless way.
The makers must have done thorough digging on the release date for releasing a movie at this time of the year can have detrimental effects on the fortune of the movie. Amberdeep Singh is known for writing movies which a family can watch together. The fact that board exams of most of the students are going on at the moment, the families might not turn up for Laung Laachi, which is a mere surmise.
Having said that, if we track back to 2016, Rajiv Dhingra’s ‘Love Punjab’ and Gippy Grewal’s ‘Ardaas’ had released at almost the same time of the year (March 11). Both the movies turned out to be productive at the box-office which brings us to the cessation that great content will always find its pathway to success. Whether Laung Laachi will stand tall on those expectations of great content, only time will tell.
Laung Laachi will receive strong competition from Aleya Sen’s ‘Dil Junglee’, Vishal Pandya’s ‘Hate Story IV’ and Arjun Mukherjee’s ‘3 Storeys’. Given the success of the Hate Story series in the past and the potential of 3 Storeys, these movies are certain to give a run for money to Laung Laachi.
Visit your cinema halls on this Friday to watch Laung Laachi and do not forget to tell us about your views regarding the movie in the comments section. Watch the trailer below:
