There is a very thin line between something being wrong and something being not right. Having watched its progress so far, the latter appears to be the case with ‘Nikka Zaildar 2’. After watching the trailer, there is an inclination that the movie is lacking the ‘X Factor’.
Nikka Zaildar 2 is the sequel to 2016-superhit movie, ‘Nikka Zaildar’. When the trailer of the first part released, no one would have expected that the movie would go on to achieve all what it did. Out of all the renowned names that were present in the movie, seasoned Punjabi actress, Nirmal Rishi’s act was applauded the most. The movie pushed the direction of Ammy Virk’s acting graph away from its axes.
The follow-up of Nikka Zaildar stars Ammy Virk, Sonam Bajwa, Nirmal Rishi and Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead roles. Rana Ranbir, Sardar Sohi, Anita Devgan, Gurpreet Bhangu, Gurmeet Sajan, Baninder Bunny, Harry Sangha and Parkash Gadhu will be seen in pivotal supporting roles. Karamjit Anmol, who successfully portrayed the character of Bhola (Virk’s friend) in the first part is likely to be missed. The brains behind the movie also remain the same, i.e., the movie is directed by Simerjit Singh and the story, screenplay and dialogues have been penned by Jagdeep Sidhu.
With only a week left in its release, Nikka Zaildar 2 has failed to create the hype it was expected to create when the film was announced way back in November. The trailer is not so promising as compared to the 1st Part. The trio of songs which have released as of now, are ordinary and lack excellence of that of a ‘Mini Cooper’, which is a classic even after a year of its release.
Unlike the current trend in the film industry, the extensive promotions are a major missing. Reports are coming in that Ammy Virk has allowed just 3-4 days to promote the film in Punjab and he is currently in Canada promoting the film. All in all, the air of public interest which should have been flowing around the movie by now when the film is just 4 days away from release is nowhere to be felt. Will the makers and the cast of the movie be able to create it in the last week before its release is the question to be answered.
There have been examples in the recent times, in both Hindi and Punjabi movie industry, when the film makers got carried away with the success of a movie and planned to make its sequel. Audiences tend to expect more it such scenarios, but, at times, end up with a substantial amount of disappointment. Hopefully, such a situation, a lose-lose situation for both the parties, will not occur as far as Nikka Zaildar 2 is concerned. We predict the film to Open well on Day 1 given that the previous instalment was liked by the audiences. The film can open in the range of Rs. 95 Lacs to Rs. 1.10 Crores on Day 1 in East Punjab.
