‘Qismat’ movie: Punjabi Mania presents before you the preview of Jagdeep Sidhu’s ‘Qismat’, which releases in a cinema hall near you on September 21.
Not many Punjabi music videos go through a progression which Ammy Virk’s ‘Qismat’ has undergone in the last 14 months. Post becoming a romantic anthem for a pan-India audience, Qismat is just a couple of days away from its release on the silver screen. Not that the movie is entirely based on the music video but some of its sequences are likely to revolve around it.
The movie stars Ammy Virk and Sargun Mehta in lead roles. Apart from them, Guggu Gill, Tania, Hardeep Gill and Harby Sangha will be seen playing vital roles in the movie. The trailer of the movie was released almost three weeks ago on the official YouTube channel of Speed Records. At the time of writing this article, it has received in vicinity of eight million views on the same platform. Watch the trailer below:
Taking into consideration all that has been said about the movie by its cast, one gets assured of the fact that this love story would be in a class by itself. Whether people will clasp to its bosom like they did to the song, it will be known in a few days time. Citing the fact that a love story of undisputed origin is a major missing in the Punjabi industry, Qismat is likely to attract a fresh set of audiences.
Apart from being an unusual love story, Qismat will mark the directorial debut of Jagdeep Sidhu. Having written the scripts of ‘Nikka Zaildar’ series and ‘Harjeeta‘ in the recent times, Sidhu has penned down Qismat himself. In an interview with Punjabi Mania, Sidhu laid emphasis on Qismat being made out of a rich cloth of quality and that it will make people remember their own love story after watching the movie.
Talking about the music of the movie, it has been liked duly by the audiences. With most songs coming in from the near-invincible duo of B Praak and Jaani in the contemporary Punjabi industry, it was highly unlikely of the music going otherwise. In the interview mentioned above, Sidhu had also convinced us that the music of the movie will take it forward, something which is also worth looking forward to.
Qismat is produced by Ankit Vijan, Navdeep Narula, Jatinder Aulukh and Shubham Goyal under the banner of Shri Narotam Ji Production. The movie is likely to face competition from Shree Narayan Singh’s ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’, Nandita Das’ ‘Manto’ and Prerna Wadhawan’s ‘Ishqeria’. That being said, the star power of Ammy and Sargun should bail it out, especially in Punjab.
Visit the cinemas on this weekend to witness this saga and don’t forget to tell us your views about the movie in our comments section. Watch Ammy and Sargun in an interview with Punjabi Mania below:
