From ‘Angrej’ to ‘Nikka Zaildar 2’, within a span of 28 months, Ammy Virk has come a long way in terms of acting in the Punjabi film industry. From making his debut to becoming one of the leading actors in the industry, the journey must have been a dream-come-true for the 25-year old actor.
However, his actual screen test is likely to be held on this Friday in cinemas near you, front of you. In what will be his seventh movie, Virk-starrer ‘Sat Shri Akaal England’ is all set to be released this Friday. Upon the release of the trailer, we talked about the prospects of Vikram Pradhan’s movie ending the year 2017 for the Punjabi industry on a high note.
We had also discussed hitherto as to how the paucity of euphoria around the movie might turn those prospects into a far-fetched dream. But all that has changed now. The movie was originally slated to release on November 17. Having said that, some issues regarding the certificate of the movie from the censor board caused a delay. But all that happens, actually happens for good. Isn’t it?
The delay in the release of the movie saw it being promoted heavily, both on ground and on various TV and radio channels across Punjab. With the gradual increase in the number of people who are talking about the movie and eventually waiting for it, its prospects of achieving the desired outcomes have risen to new heights. The makers of the movie would be much relieved to see the hype building around the movie.
Playing the lead role opposite to Virk in the movie is Monica Gill. Apart from this pair, another pair which is likely to entertain the audience is of Karamjit Anmol and Sardar Sohi. The movie is produced by Sagoon Wagh & Nick Bahl under the banner of Kuausmedia Entertainment and Sizzlin Productions. Deep Sood (Mahi Productions) & Bhushan Chopra (Malika Production) are co-producing the movie.
The story of the movie is written by Pradhan, himself. He has teamed up with Jatinder Lall to write the screenplay of the movie. Lall has also penned down the dialogues. The background score and music has been given by Jatinder Shah. Jyoti Nooran’s ‘Gal Theek Nai’ has already become the highlight of the movie. Saga Music is the official music label for the songs of Sat Shri Akaal England. Bharat Singh Rawat has edited the movie.
The movie is expected to receive strong competition from Mrighdeep Singh Lamba’s, ‘Fukrey Returns’. This movie is expected to do well, just like its prequel, ‘Fukrey’. Another Hindi movie which is releasing this week is Mohammed Israr Ansari’s ‘Sallu Ki Shadi’.
On a personal note, for someone who lives in Mumbai, watching a Punjabi movie earning 16 shows across the city is an overwhelming feat. Perhaps, it is a sign for Sat Shri Akaal England doing well across the nation in the coming week.
