There is a seraphic power in the Punjabi industry which gives the audacity to singers to transform into actors, lyricists to transform into singers, actors to transform into singers, and so forth. The current series of transformation is seeing actors turning into producers. The latest greenhorn in this list is Karamjit Anmol.
Yes, you read that right. The uber-versatile singer-turned-actor has now donned the hat of a producer. Smeep Kang’s latest movie, ‘Laavaan Phere’, will mark Anmol’s debut in the Punjabi industry as a producer. Producing the movie along with him are Ranjiv Singla and Prem Prakash Gupta. Kang, who has been instrumental in opening the door for comedy in the contemporary Punjabi film industry, looks set to add another name in the list of his affluent projects. The movie will release on February 9.
Roshan Prince, an eminent name in the Punjabi industry, is playing the lead role in the movie. Rubina Bajwa, who made her acting debut last year in Neeru Bajwa’s ‘Sargi’ and was later seen in Babbal Rai’s ‘Rondi Tere Layi’, is the female lead in the movie.
Three names of utmost importance, around whom the entire plot is expected to revolve, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Karamjit Anmol and Harby Sanhga, are looking set to enthral the audience with a laugh riot. By the looks of the trailer, it appears as if this trio is going to transfix the public with their true-blue comic prowess. It was evident even before the trailer had released that their role as the brothers-in-law of Prince in the movie is going to be of high value.
At one point in the trailer, Roshan Prince tells Rubina Bajwa, ‘Ik jeeja apne saale di jindagi ch kuch vi change kar sakda hai’. So whether there will be another brother-in-law (of B.N. Sharma) in the form of a special appearance who will turn the tides with respect to this marriage, only time will tell.
The trailer was released on the official YouTube channel of T-Series Apna Punjab in the morning. At the time of writing this article, it has received in excess of three and a half lakh views on the same platform. However, the comments in the affirmative would be of a higher consequence for the makers.
