Taj’s ‘Punjab Singh’ is all set to ring up the curtain on in the Punjabi film industry as far as the year 2018 is concerned. Term it as a mere positive start for the whole industry or call it auspicious, the Punjabi film fraternity would want the movie to do well at least for the sake of a start in the affirmative this year.
The movie is ready for its release and will hit the cinema halls on the 19th of this month (19/01/2018). The trailer of the movie was released a week ago on the official YouTube channel of Yellow Music. At the time of writing this article, it has received in excess of half a million views on the same platform.
Gurjind Maan, who was earlier seen in Harjit Singh Ricky’s ‘Once Upon A Time in Amritsar’ alongside Dilpreet Dhillon, is playing the lead role in the movie. Annie Sekhon, who made her Bollywood debut in 2014 with Dilip Sood’s ‘Bhaangarh’, is the female lead in the movie. Sarthi K, the Punjabi singer who turned actor in Sunny Mahal’s ‘Yaar Anmulle 2’, will be seen playing the role of a Senior Superintendent of Police in the movie.
From the looks of the trailer, it is evident enough that Punjab Singh is a movie based on crimes, throwing light on how some innocent individuals are also forced to walk on this dreaded path. Citing the audacity of the same individual, then follows some reputed gangsters who seek usefulness out of them. The movie is expected to rotate around these lines.
Maahi Aullakh is producing the movie under the banner of Big Heights Motion Pictures & PBR Entertainments. It is co-produced by Blue Horse Entertainment, Rich Hand, Sunny – Gugu and Jaisal Entertainment. The movie’s first song named ‘Jugni’ sung by a nonpareil performer both on-stage and off it, legendary Gurdas Maan, is already doing the rounds amongst the audiences.
