To convulse the audiences with laughter, another multi-starrer Punjabi film is preparing for its release. To the amazement of many of us, the movie being referred to in the above line is Smeep Kang’s ‘Vadhayiyaan Ji Vadhayiyaan’. The reason why the movie is a source of amazement is because at the time of its release, it will become Smeep Kang’s third movie in five months.
Moreover, the movie was announced in the first week of April. To complete a full movie in less than three months is another accomplished task which the whole cast and crew has achieved. The trailer of the movie was released a couple of hours ago on the official YouTube channel of White Hill Music.
Having delivered a hit and a record-breaking blockbuster in ‘Laavaan Phere’ and ‘Carry On Jatta 2’ respectively earlier this year, Kang would be hoping for scoring a hat-trick with Vadhayiyaan Ji Vadhayiyaan. The cast of the movie is almost the replica of Carry On Jatta 2. Binnu Dhillon and Kavita Kaushik, a lead pair which was liked by the audiences in Ksshitij Chaudhary’s ‘Vekh Baraatan Challiyan’ last year, will be seen on-screen for the second time.
Apart from them, Jaswinder Bhalla, Karamjit Anmol, B.N. Sharma and Gurpreet Ghuggi will be seen playing pivotal roles in the movie. In what has come as a change for movies comprising of Binnu Dhillon and Jaswinder Bhalla, the latter will not be seen playing the role of the former’s father this time round. That responsibility will be performed by B.N. Sharma in this jocular flick. Upasna Singh has been roped in to play a guest appearance.
It is palpable from the trailer and the cast of the movie that it will aim to entertain the audiences in a whimsical way. The presence of all these names in itself signify that the movie will be a lethal dosage of tittering. Just like other Smeep Kang movies, Vadhayiyaan Ji Vadhayiyaan is also expected to encompass comic punches which will be to funny for words. Additionally, the audiences can start fitting themselves out for an ancillary lie which will make way for some confusion and eventually an archetype enjoyable movie.
Vaibhav Suman and Shreya Srivastava, a duo which wrote the script of Carry On Jatta 2, has written the script of Vadhayiyaan Ji Vadhayiyaan as well. For a pair which has already written several successful movies, expectations are bound to occur now. Whether they will be able to stand tall on those expectations this time will only be known after watching the movie on July 13.
A potential challenge for the makers of the movie in the days to come is carrying out its promotional activities. A mere 18 days are left for the release of the movie which means that things need to be done as effectively as possible. It might well become a case of choosing quality over quantity.
