Synopsis

After their mother dies during childbirth, an elder sister becomes the sole parent-figure to her younger brother, raising him with a near-maternal devotion that turns their bond into the center of both their lives. As she grows older, she finally allows herself to dream of a personal life and falls in love with a man from Bathinda—a match that feels sincere to her, but “wrong” to her brother. He can’t accept the boy’s family and background, and instead wants her to marry into a more modern, well-educated household, believing that’s the “right” future for her. What begins as a love story quickly becomes an emotional tug-of-war between duty and independence, as the siblings’ intense attachment collides with the sister’s desire to choose her own happiness—pulling two families, two value systems, and one fragile relationship into open conflict.
