Ardaas Karaan Music Launch: The star-studded affair has left a long-lasting impression ahead of the release of the much talked about movie.

“Main pehli vaar vekh rahi han ke es tareeke naal music launch ho reha hai [This is the first time that I am seeing music being launched in such a manner],” actress Gurpreet Bhangu was quoted as saying during the music launch of upcoming Punjabi movie titled ‘Ardaas Karaan’.

A major reason why her words have been quoted before anyone else is because of the quantity of truth in them. There is no hiding to the fact that Punjabi industry is still not accustomed to music launch before a movie. While there are bountiful efforts put on single tracks or albums, the music of Punjabi movies isn’t accustomed to receiving such a treatment.

Rare occasion of singers, music director and lyricist gaining limelight

Last Sunday saw the entire cast of the movie walking on red carpet and giving interviews. The arrangement was nothing less than that of an award show. The best part about the star-studded affair was that it wasn’t just restricted to the star cast of the movie but laid more emphasis on people who joined hands to work on its music.

Illustrious singer Sunidhi Chauhan, ace music director Jatinder Shah, lyricist-turned-singer-turned-actor Happy Raikoti and singer Devenderpal Singh took the centre stage and rightly so.

The two songs of the movie which have released so far have been able to generate goosebumps at will. Anecdotes shared by Sunidhi Chauhan and Jatinder Shah on the stage were no less. The ambience created was second to none and was a learning for the others to give credit where due especially when it comes to departments other than acting.

Gippy Grewal on efforts behind Ardaas Karaan’s music

Gippy Grewal, who has directed and produced the movie apart from playing a vital role in it, was the man responsible for putting such a show in place. As a producer, him acknowledging his team’s effort and crediting them in such a grand manner will go down as a trailblazing step in the Punjabi film industry.

Speaking during the event, Grewal talked about how Ardaas Karaan’s music is different from other Punjabi movies and lauded Jatinder Shah for his hard work. “Bedi mehnat kitti aa. Kyunki aksar taur te jehra saada music hunda, asi koi vi gaana kise vi music ch paa dinde han.

“Es film da music film de anusaar banaya gaya va. Jatinder Shah ji pata nahin kinniyan raatan sutte nahin oh [We have worked very hard. Generally, we put any song in any Punjabi movie. However, this time the music is according to the film. Jatinder Shah has had sleepless nights for this movie],” Grewal said.
