B Praak Threatened With Ransom Demand, Security Agencies Step In

0% Liked

Punjabi and Hindi film singer B Praak has reportedly been targeted in an alleged extortion attempt, after a threatening message demanding a large sum of money was received by a member of his team. The incident has prompted Punjab Police to initiate an investigation from Mohali, where a formal complaint was lodged earlier this month.

According to officials, the warning did not reach the singer directly but was conveyed through a phone call and a voice note sent to Dilnoor, an associate of B Praak. The communication, which originated from a foreign number on January 6, sought Rs 10 crore and carried a serious threat if the demand was not met within a week. The sender reportedly claimed to be linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, a name that has surfaced in several high-profile criminal cases in recent years.

Alarmed by the nature of the message, Dilnoor approached senior police officers in Mohali and submitted a written complaint on the same day. Law enforcement agencies have since begun technical and forensic examinations to trace the caller and authenticate the voice recording. Investigators are also analysing call records and digital footprints to identify those behind the threat.

B Praak, born Prateik Bachan, is widely known for his powerful vocals and emotional performances in popular tracks such as 'Teri Mitti' and 'Ranjha'. While police have not disclosed whether the threat is genuine or an attempt to intimidate, officials said the case is being treated with utmost seriousness. Security-related aspects are also being reviewed as authorities continue efforts to track the source of the message and prevent any potential harm.
