Badshah Reignites Feud with Honey Singh Over 'Brown Rang' Writing Credits

The long-standing tension between rappers Badshah and Yo Yo Honey Singh has flared up once again this time over the authorship of the hit track Brown Rang.

It all began when a fan shared a collage showcasing Honey Singh's body transformation on social media, sarcastically asking, “What did he eat?” Badshah’s cryptic one-word reply, “Credits”, quickly caught attention and sparked speculation online. Many interpreted it as a subtle jab at Honey Singh for allegedly claiming credit for songs he didn't write.

The situation escalated further when another user jumped into the conversation, asserting, “Brown Rang was written by Honey Singh.” Badshah didn’t hold back. He clapped back sharply, replying, “Chomu, tere support ke liye nahi kar raha main ye,” making it clear that he wasn’t interested in public validation but rather in correcting the narrative.

This isn’t the first time Badshah has addressed the controversy. In a 2024 interview, he recounted the events surrounding Brown Rang, claiming that he was the actual lyricist behind the song.

“In 2011, Honey Singh called me to mix a track. He already had the beat, but his lyrics didn’t quite fit. I felt it needed something stronger. That’s when I wrote Brown Rang,” Badshah said.

He also alleged that he contributed to Angrezi Beat, another song popularly associated with Honey Singh.

Badshah and Honey Singh were once collaborators as part of the hip-hop collective Mafia Mundeer, which included artists like Raftaar, Ikka, and Lil Golu. The group made waves in the underground scene before disbanding due to creative and personal differences.

Following the split, both artists carved out successful solo careers—Honey Singh with chartbusters like Lungi Dance and Desi Kalakaar, and Badshah with massive hits like DJ Waley Babu and Garmi. Despite their individual success, friction between the two has simmered beneath the surface, occasionally surfacing through online spats or pointed remarks in interviews.
