Punjabi actor Hardeep Grewal has voiced his disappointment over the lack of support for his film Six Each in Punjab, urging local audiences to come out and watch the movie. In a candid statement, Grewal expressed frustration that despite the backing from Canada, the film is not drawing large crowds in Punjab.
“I am deeply disheartened by the response from the people of Punjab. This is my last attempt to offer something truly remarkable to our audience, but if they aren’t ready to support it, I won't be putting in the same effort again,” Grewal said.
The actor, known for his commitment to Punjabi cinema, emphasized the importance of local support in elevating the quality of the industry. He urged the people of Punjab to watch Six Each and help raise the bar for Punjabi films. “Don’t tell me later that I’m not making good films. This is an opportunity to show that you care about quality cinema,” Grewal added.
He also made a special appeal for viewers to support the film on Sunday, suggesting that a strong turnout could help the industry evolve and reach new heights.
The film Six Each features a talented supporting cast, including Grewal himself, Many Takhar, Amandeep Rai Singh, Malkeet Rauni, and Sanju Solanki, among others. Despite positive reviews from critics, the film has struggled to pack theaters in its home state.
Grewal’s call to action highlights a growing concern among Punjabi filmmakers who feel that local audiences are not fully backing their projects, despite the increasing global recognition of Punjabi cinema.
As Six Each continues its run in theaters, the actor’s plea remains clear – for the people of Punjab to show their support and help the regional film industry thrive.
