'Emergency' Movie Controversy: A petition has been filed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court against Kangana Ranaut's upcoming film, Emergency. The legal action, led by Advocate Iman Singh Khara, challenges the film's release, alleging that it portrays Sikhs in a negative light.

Khara has argued that the film misrepresents the Sikh community, stirring concerns over its impact. The petition is set to be heard in the coming days.

The controversy has sparked protests outside a theater in Bathinda, where members of the Sikh community are demanding a complete ban on the film. Adding to the tension, Kangana Ranaut has reportedly received death threats from Vicky Thomas Masih.

Emergency, which delves into the turbulent period of the 1975 Emergency declared by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, has been the center of political and cultural controversy. Scheduled for release on September 6, the film has drawn criticism for its depiction of Sikhs.

Punjab's independent MP, Sarbjit Singh Khalsa, was among the first to voice objections, accusing the film of distorting history and potentially inciting hatred against Sikhs. Khalsa has urged the central government to intervene and prevent the film's release.
