‘Chann Pardesi’ to release again: The iconic Punjabi movie is all set to re-release in cinema halls after 40 years.

Iconic Punjabi movie titled ‘Chann Pardesi’ will get released in the cinema halls once again to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the movie. Having won a National Award in 1980, Chann Pardesi went on to become a commercial blockbuster after getting a distributor the following year.

The movie witnessed vital roles from Raj Babbar, Rama Vij, Om Puri, Amrish Puri, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Mehar Mittal, Sunita Dhir and others.

It is worth mentioning that Chann Pardesi was the first Punjabi movie of Raj Babbar who had made his acting debut in 1977.

‘Chann Pardesi’ to release again on 40th anniversary

While fans of the Punjabi film industry are expected to have watched the legendary movie, those who haven’t will get a chance to watch  refurbished Chann Pardesi in the cinema halls on June 19 this year. The movie will be released in HD Digital and 5.1 Surround Sound.

As far as the re-mastering of the movie is concerned, it has been done by none other than a pioneering name in Manmohan Singh.

London-based businessman Dr. Chanan Singh Sidhu and his son Simran Sidhu have bought the rights of the movie for re-releasing it across the world.

Given the number of hearts which the movie has been touching over the year, one expects it to allure the audiences in cinema halls upon its re-release in later this year. The refurbished version will undoubtedly be a one-off experience for the Punjabi youth.
