100 Phones Stolen at Diljit Dosanjh’s Jaipur Concert, Police Launch Investigation

Diljit Dosanjh’s concert in Jaipur turned sour for some fans after around 100 mobile phones were reportedly stolen amid the packed crowd on Sunday.

Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph stated that police suspect a gang infiltrated the concert to carry out the thefts. Initial reports indicate that phones went missing both inside the concert venue and near the entrance.

Sanganer Sadar SHO, Nand Lal Jat, confirmed that 32 FIRs have been filed so far, though more complaints are anticipated as the number of lost phones continues to rise. After the concert, many fans, some of whom traveled from Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab, rushed to file reports about their stolen phones.

A New Delhi resident, who attended the concert specifically for Dosanjh’s performance, said her phone was taken as soon as she entered the crowded venue.

The high attendance reportedly created a prime opportunity for thieves, with people jostling in the crowd and many phones being dropped or snatched. Police believe that the gang responsible may have targeted other high-profile events in cities like New Delhi.

Authorities have initiated questioning and are actively working to identify and apprehend those behind the thefts.
