Sharry Maan, who rose to fame with his track Yaar Anmulle 2 years ago is back with his latest album ‘Aate Di Chiri’.
Aate Di Chiri has 10 tracks (8 Brand New and 2 Remixes from Yaar Anmulle album). The music has been composed by Nick Dhammu and all the songs have been sung by Sharry Maan. Lyrics for all the songs have been written by Sharry Maan himself. The album was released on October 25, 2012 across the digital platforms and it was available in stores from October 27, 2012.
Now lets discuss each and every song in detail.
- Aate Di Chiri:
The album begins with the title track titled ‘Aate Di Chiri’. The song begins with a voiceover by Sharry Maan describing the song followed by a Shayari and then the song. The song depicts the emotions of a man (Son, Brother, Grandson and a person away from his home) and his acquaintances from his past that include his childhood memories. This one is a sure shot HIT and gave me Goosebumps when i first heard it! - Yenkene:
This song describes a situation where a guy meets his ex-girlfriend after a long time gap. The word ‘Yenkene’ here is used to describe the girl who happens to be the ex-girlfriend. This song is a message for all the broken hearts to live their life at fullest. - Sohne Mukhre:
This is another track for the Ex-girlfriends but this one depicts pain of a broken heart that has lost out on love. Lyrics and Music compliment the song well. A good song. (This songs has been released on the Internet before as a single around an year ago) - Chandigarh Waliye:
This is one song, which I was very excited to listen. I had heard its 30 seconds promo and straight away i could relate many people i know with this song. This song is a typical Sharry Maan ‘Desi Style’ song. The song depicts a boy who has returned from Chandigarh and his conversation with his ex-girlfriend who is being referred to as ‘Chandigarh Waliye’. Its a funny song and my personal favorite from the album. - College Wali GT Road:
This song was also released as a single last year but without music. It straightaway became popular with everyone especially the youth of Punjab who assumed him or her in this song. This is another song, which may give Goosebumps to many, and many might go back to their older days of college. - Ik Ghar Tera:
Here comes an emotional track from this album. It immediately reminded me of Dhiyaan from Sharry’s Yaar Anmulle which probably went unnoticed or got overshadowed due to the presence of many super hits in the album. But this one is much much better than the former and establishes Sharry Maan’s image as the ‘Lok Gaayak’, which many have claimed him to be. Another good musical song filled with emotions. - Disc Ch Kalli:
Here’s Sharry Maan back again in his Desi Style which he is best at. This one talks about a Desi Jatt going in the Disco and his Graari. My personal favourite lines from the song which have been repeated quite often in this track, “Yaar di Graari mittro, kehnda Disc ch kali main lawaauni” This is another good track equally supported by Good Music which consists of Dhol Beats and this one is a sure shot HIT as Disco parties and Weddings. It also speaks about Kuldeep Manak Saab’s Kaliyaan and can be referred to as Sharry Maan’s tribute to the Late music maestro. - Bhul Jayi Na:
No Punjabi Album is complete without a ‘Senti Romantic track’ and even this would have been incomplete without one. Another good romantic track, will easily connect to the romantic youth around the globe who listen to Punjabi Music.
Lastly, there are 2 bonus tracks included from Sharry Maan’s previous album: Yaar Anmulle (Dhol Mix) & Yaari Da Vaasta(Reloaded). Both are good and freshen the memories of Yaar Anmulle.
Punjabi Mania rates Sharry Maan and Nick Dhammu’s attempt a thumping 4.5/5
