Akhil to make acting debut opposite Rubina Bajwa in Priti Sapru's untitled film

Akhil to make acting debut opposite Rubina Bajwa: Illustrious singer Akhil has become the latest singer to be transformed into an actor.

Known for singing outright romantic songs, singer Akhil will now be seen making in acting debut in an upcoming Punjabi movie. The movie remains untitled at this point in time and will go on floors on July 13.

Apart from marking Akhil's acting debut, the movie will also mark the directorial comeback of legendary Punjabi actress Priti Sapru. Having last directed 'Mehndi Shagnan Di' (1992), Sapru will be seen directing a movie after 27 years.

It is worth mentioning that Sapru had made her acting comeback after 27 years in Rai Yuvraj Bains' 'Kaake Da Viyah' earlier this year. It was during a promotional interview with Punjabi Mania for the same movie that she had disclosed her ambition of coming back as a director as well. Watch the full video below:

Other than Akhil, the movie will star Rubina Bajwa in a lead role. Having already appeared in a couple of movies this year, Bajwa still has three more movies scheduled for release this year. With her being part of 'Good Luck Jatta' alongside Ninja, the same calls for an unrestricted spree now.

The movie will be supported by a stellar cast comprising of Karamjit Anmol, Yograj Singh, Guggu Gill, Nirmal Rishi, Hobby Dhaliwal and others. Director Sapru will also be seen playing a crucial role in the movie.
