Bollywood is not only picking up Punjabi songs but also giving big acting opportunities to Punjabi actors. Punjabi stars are shining bright, not only in the Punjabi industry but also in Bollywood. Recently, we saw the popular Punjabi singer and actor Jassi Gill in the Bollywood movie Happy Bhaag Jayegi Returns. Ammy Virk had also shared the big news of playing the character of Balwinder Singh Sandhu in the upcoming Bollywood movie 83, which is being directed by Kabir Khan and stars Ranveer Singh in the main lead. The film will be based on India’s win in the 1983 Cricket World Cup.
Apart from this Bollywood project, Ammy Virk has been roped for one more big Bollywood film which has an Illustrious starcast. The title of the movie is Bhuj: The Pride Of India. Apart from Ammy Virk, the stellar starcast includes Ajay Devgn, Parineeti Chopra, Sanjay Dutt, Rana Daggubati and Sonakshi Sinha. All the six actors will play significant characters in the movie. The film has a magnificent ensemble cast and the Punjabi heartthrob and superstar Ammy Virk is very excited to be a part of the same. He shared this big news with his fans by posting on his social media handle.
The film is being made under the banner of T-Series and Select Media Holdings LLP and is being produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Ginny Khanuja, Vajir Singh, Abhishek Dudhaiya and Kumar Mangat Pathak. Written by Abhishek Dudhaiya, the film will be based on a true war story during the Indo-Pak War in 1971. The movie is being directed by Dudhaiya himself. The story will revolve around the team which reconstructed the destroyed Indian Air Force airstrip at Bhuj with the help of 300 local women. The film will celebrate the courage of the 300 women of Madhapur in Gujarat, who played a pivotal role in India’s victory in the Indo-Pak war of 1971 by coming together to repair the only runway in Bhuj which was destroyed during the war.
Ammy Virk will play the role of a fighter pilot, and will play a very important and crucial part in this film that documents India’s victory. Ammy Virk, who has his feet firm in the Punjabi industry is ready to spread his magic in Bollywood as well. It is that phase of cinema, in which numerous films which are based on real life stories are being made, and this one is definitely a courageous tale that needs to be told.
