Sippy Gill: The singer-turned-actor is gearing up for his fourth theatrical release after a couple of years.

Singer-turned-actor Sippy Gill will be back on the celluloid after a couple of years in the upcoming Punjabi movie titled 'Marjaney'. In what will be Gill's fourth Punjabi movie, he has worked for the first time with writer-director Amardeep Singh Gill.

In a recent interview with Punjabi Mania, Sippy Gill narrated the journey from him receiving Marjaney's first narration to the movie getting stalled for a couple of years saying that the movie wouldn't have been completed without god's will from that point.

"He [Amardeep Singh Gill] had narrated 'Marjaney' to me. I am on good terms with [Vivek, producer] Ohri sahab and I requested him to listen to this story once," Sippy Gill told Punjabi Mania. "The story was really appealing according to me. While Ohri sahab agreed, I had to go to Canada for [roughly] a couple of years due to an important work.

"Amardeep bai, Ohri sahab and I waited for this project and it was upon my return to India that we started working on it again. Generally, a two-year delay results in the movie getting shelved. But I believe it was god's will that this movie had to be made."

Amardeep, who is primarily known for writing and directing the 'Jora' series, demands a certain commitment from his actors. Not that singer-turned-actors aren't committed in acting gigs, they tend to have other commitments with respect to live shows as well. While live shows come with their own demands, Sippy laid emphasis on managing both the fields with ease while shooting Marjaney.

"Anything I do, I do it with full dedication. It comes natural to me. I am playing a regular village boy in the movie. Not just my character, all the characters have been designed with keeping minute details in mind.

"As far as [live] shows are concerned, you can't afford to back down [due to various reasons] from the previously booked shows [attended in the same look]. But I made sure that I don't book new shows. I mean you don't want to delay the shooting of the movie just because of your look. It's unfair on the producer," Sippy added.

Amardeep's filmography, Sippy's perceived reputation due to some of his single tracks and Marjaney's title are enough reasons for the viewers to label it as an outright action movie. While there is no hiding to this judgement, Sippy believes that there's much more to this movie than just brawls.

"Some might look at the trailer and say that it's an outright action movie. It is but it is not just about action. I am quite sure that anyone who watches this movie will watch it again with his family or friends. It's such a relatable story that people will get involve in it. It's essentially a story of many mothers who have lost their sons [misused by politicians]," Sippy added.

Sippy, who revealed that he will soon be releasing his maiden Hindi album comprising of five songs, talked about his upcoming movies and was hopeful of it changing his perceived reputation among audiences.

"I am part of another movie titled 'Gadri Yodhe'. It's very different from my aura. We will announce a release date soon. It's based on the journey of Shaheed Sardar Mewa Singh Lopoke. And I was talking to Ohri sahab the other day about our next movie. A musical love story; something on the lines of 'Tere Naam' (2003) or 'Veer-Zara' (2004)," Sippy mentioned.
