Popular Punjabi singer AP Dhillon recently visited several flood-ravaged areas in Punjab, where he was deeply moved by the suffering of residents. Overwhelmed by the destruction he witnessed, Dhillon expressed his support and solidarity with the affected communities. In a heartfelt gesture, he, along with fellow artist Shinda Kahlon, has pledged to help rebuild homes destroyed in the floods.
The duo has partnered with the non-profit group Initiators of Change, committing to the reconstruction of multiple houses that were washed away or severely damaged. Speaking to locals during the visit, Dhillon assured them that they are not alone and that steps are being taken to help them rebuild their lives.
Flood Situation in Punjab
Punjab is currently facing one of its most severe flood crises in recent history. Unusually heavy rainfall over the past several weeks has led to rivers and tributaries overflowing, causing widespread flooding across the state. Nearly all districts have been affected, with thousands of homes submerged and entire villages cut off due to rising water levels.
Farmlands across the region have also suffered extensive damage, particularly in low-lying agricultural areas. Many families have been displaced, forced to seek shelter in relief camps or temporary accommodations. With roads, bridges, and essential infrastructure damaged, access to clean water, electricity, and medical aid has become a growing challenge in several regions.
