Punjabi music star AP Dhillon recently experienced a deeply personal milestone when he met and honoured legendary American rock band Linkin Park during their visit to Mumbai. The interaction, which Dhillon later described as surreal and emotional, highlighted the influence global music icons can have across cultures and generations.
Taking to Instagram, the singer-songwriter shared photographs from the meeting and expressed gratitude to the band that, he said, played a key role in shaping his musical outlook while growing up. Calling the moment “full circle,” Dhillon acknowledged how Linkin Park’s sound, themes, and fearless experimentation left a lasting imprint on his creative journey. His post carried a simple yet heartfelt message of appreciation, underscoring the band’s impact on his evolution as an artist.
The meeting comes at a significant time, just days before Linkin Park’s long-anticipated return to India. The band is set to make history with its India debut tour, From Zero World Tour, beginning with a standalone concert in Bengaluru on January 23, 2026. This will be followed by a major headline performance at Lollapalooza India in Mumbai on January 25, an event fans have been waiting years to witness.
Linkin Park’s current lineup features original members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Joe Hahn, and Dave Farrell, joined by vocalist Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain. Their India visit is being widely viewed as a landmark moment for the country’s live music scene, bringing together longtime followers and a younger generation raised on the band’s music.
For AP Dhillon, the meeting symbolised more than just a celebrity interaction—it was a moment of recognition, gratitude, and artistic connection, bridging the worlds of Punjabi pop and global rock on Indian soil.
