Mumbai: Actor and model Asim Riaz has responded to remarks by his former girlfriend, Himanshi Khurana, during a recent podcast with Paras Chhabra, where she spoke about being pressured to change in a past relationship. Although Himanshi did not directly name Asim while discussing the matter, her comments were widely linked to their relationship, prompting a strong response from the former Bigg Boss 13 contestant.
Taking to social media, Asim categorically denied ever asking anyone to change their religion. “I never asked anyone to change their religion. Not once,” he wrote, making it clear that he considered the issue too sensitive to be used in a public dispute.
Asim also addressed comments surrounding Himanshi's transformation, claiming that he had encouraged her to focus on fitness during their relationship. He wrote that he was the person who pushed her towards fitness and suggested that her physical transformation happened after they met.
Without naming Himanshi directly, Asim accused her of using religion as a means to generate negativity against him. He urged her not to turn a deeply personal and sensitive subject into a reason for people to dislike him, calling such an approach immature and suggesting that it was being done for attention.
The model also responded to claims and discussions surrounding their respective careers. Asim maintained that he had never depended on anyone to establish his career and rejected any suggestion that another person could claim credit for his professional achievements.
The former reality-show contestant then brought up the subject of money, sarcastically suggesting that financial claims could be settled through bank statements if necessary. At the same time, he stressed that wealth should not be treated as a measure of a person's character.
“Money was never the measure of character,” Asim said in his statement, arguing that a person's conduct, particularly during difficult or contentious situations, says more about them than their financial position.
He further criticised the decision to revisit details of their old relationship years after their separation. According to Asim, repeatedly discussing personal matters from a past relationship simply to generate gossip or public interest reflects more on the person bringing them up than on the individual being discussed.
Interestingly, the controversy has brought three familiar faces from Bigg Boss 13 back into the spotlight. Paras Chhabra and Asim Riaz were prominent contestants on the season, while Himanshi Khurana entered the house as a wildcard contestant. Asim and Himanshi grew close during their time associated with the show, and their relationship subsequently continued outside the Bigg Boss house.
Their relationship eventually came to an end after several years, with both moving on separately. However, their past continues to attract public attention whenever either of them discusses their relationship or personal experiences.
Asim also took a direct swipe at Paras Chhabra, who hosted the podcast in which Himanshi made the comments. Without naming him in the statement, Asim mocked the podcast host's appearance and suggested that he should spend more time working out instead of discussing other people's personal lives.
The latest exchange has once again put the former Bigg Boss 13 trio at the centre of social media discussion. While Himanshi's comments have triggered speculation about her past relationship with Asim, his response has added another layer to the controversy, with both sides now being closely watched by fans of the reality show.
