Popular Punjabi actress, Pooja Verma, tasted the flavour of immense fame in her first movie itself, when she made her Punjabi film debut with the movie Baaz, where she played the character of a doctor, opposite none other than the legend and superstar of the Punjabi Industry- Babbu Mann. After Baaz, the actress also did many Hindi Television serials and became a popular household name.

Pooja Verma, who has acted in films like 22Ji Tusi Ghaint Ho, 15 Lakh Kadon Aauga and the superhit movie Dakuaan Da Munda, started her career with modelling and has done many advertisement commercials and Punjabi music videos . The actress is fond of both- doing television and doing Punjabi cinema, but she enjoys acting in Punjabi films more, because it helps her to remain connected to her roots and she really enjoys showing the Punjabi culture on the screen. Other than modelling, television acting and acting in Punjabi films, Pooja has also tried her hand in South Indian films.

The actress initially had no plans to enter into this field. In an exclusive interview with Punjabi Mania, Pooja Verma said

I became an actor by chance, but now I am having a time of my life. I was doing maths honours and wanted to become a lecturer. I was so fascinated by Sushmita Sen, when she played the role of a lecturer in the film Main Hoon Na.

The actress got an opportunity to model for a brand when she was doing an internship, while she was doing a course in Journalism and Mass Communication. This was her first step towards her goal, and there was no looking back after that.

The actress has recently completed a web series and will soon be finalizing more projects. The versatile actress has played different roles in all her films and is looking forward to films where she can show her various shades of acting and portray different characters on screen. Pooja, who is basically from Delhi, never faced a language barrier in this industry and wants to contribute more to the Punjabi cinema. The actor who believes that it’s her destiny that has got her here, is open to all mediums such as web, television and films, as long as the script is good and she is able to entertain the audience.
