Road to Success…
Post Panjaban, Harish went back to theater and television and continued to magnify his acting skills. But success was soon to follow. He was offered a role in Anurag Singh’s ‘Yaar Anumulle’. This film became a turning point in his career.
The film when released started on a slow note, due to the non-presence on big stars but soon picked up from Day 2 onwards and went on to become the 3rd highest grosser of 2011 after Jihne Mera Dil Lutiya and Dharti.
Harish’s character of ‘Khadak Sher Singh’ became a rage overnight on the social media. Later on he was fondly called as ‘Jatt Tinka’ wherever he went. Harish also went on to win the ‘Best Actor-Critics Choice’ at the PTC Punjabi Film Awards 2012 held this year on February 18, 2012.
Though it was a turning point for him, Harish wasn’t convinced when he was first approached for Yaar Anmulle. He said once in an interview that he felt that his role wasn’t as convincing as the other two. He also revealed that the producers wanted to cast a star for his role but on the Director’s request he was taken in the film.
Post Yaar Anmulle
Post Yaar Anmulle’s success, Harish has enjoyed the love which he has received from the Audiences and also won the ‘Best Actor’ award and has rejected almost 12 scripts that were offered to him, before finally taking up Burrraah which has now released and was a moderate success.
Sagar Sharma, who was also associate director for Yaar Anmulle, directed Burrraahh.
