Bigg Boss Punjabi Release Date: The Bigg Boss franchise is preparing for another round of expansion, with Punjabi and Bhojpuri editions expected to be launched in 2027, adding two more regional versions to one of India’s biggest reality television brands.
The development comes as the franchise prepares for an unprecedented season in which six editions are being aired simultaneously across Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Bangla markets.
The expansion was discussed by Deepak Dhar, founder and Group CEO of Banijay Asia, who spoke about the franchise's growing presence across Indian languages and the plans for its next phase.
Six Versions to Run Together
According to Dhar, the decision to bring six editions together is part of a larger celebration of the franchise completing 20 years. The simultaneous rollout is designed to make Bigg Boss a major part of the festive television calendar.
The current line-up features prominent hosts and personalities associated with the different editions, including Salman Khan, Kiccha Sudeep, Nagarjuna, Vijay Sethupathi, Mohanlal and Sourav Ganguly.
Dhar described the franchise as having evolved into a major television property, with the company looking to strengthen the viewing experience across different regional markets.
Punjabi and Bhojpuri Versions in the Pipeline
The biggest development for regional audiences is the planned arrival of Bigg Boss Punjabi and Bigg Boss Bhojpuri. Dhar confirmed that both versions are part of Banijay Asia’s upcoming slate and are expected to be operational next year.
The move would give the franchise a stronger presence in two major language markets that have a substantial television and entertainment audience.
The announcement comes alongside a busy content pipeline for Banijay Asia. Dhar also highlighted the company's work across reality and scripted programming, pointing to projects such as Raakh, Campus Beats and an upcoming Hindi adaptation of the medical drama House MD.
