“Jeeti’s character is very close to my heart. She is a strong woman, the rock support of her adamant husband who dares to challenge the rules of world. Every woman will be able to relate with her,” said actress Preeti Jhangiani, who is all set to rock Punjabi cinema with second Punjabi movie Bikkar Bai Senti Mental pairing opposite singer-turned-actor Jassi Jasraj.

In the city to promote her movie, Preeti was talking to the media persons here today flanked by Jassi Jasraj. Preeti said in the movie she plays role of a woman who marries against the wishes of her parents. “Like many other Punjabi women in the society, my character finds herself in a situation where she has to be rock support of her husband, Bikkar Bai played by Jassi Jasraj, who dares to speak against the injustice in the world and challenges it,” she said.

She added, “Jeeti undergoes an emotional turmoil where she is pitted between her love for her husband and that for her child. It’s a true depiction of rebellion Punjabi man’s uprightness and his family.”

Speaking about why Preeti chose to do the film, she answered “The story of Bikkar Bai is relatable to every Indian living in any part of the country and not just Punjab. We need to fight for small things. Corruption is so much a part of everything. If we stand united together we can make India so much better. We all have a Bikkar/Bikram in us.”

To be released on April 19, movie Bikkar Bai Sentimental revolves around a youngster who becomes larger than life following a chain of events spun around him.
