The biggest film industry of the country- Bollywood, and all the other regional film industries, are slowly mixing up with each other and supporting each other. There are so many film remakes taking place inter-industries and also actors are often experimenting by choosing films in different film industries. Earlier, we had seen that the Punjabi industry made a remake of the blockbuster Marathi film- Sairaat, as Channa Mereya starring Ninja and Payal Rajput. One more Marathi film called Mumbai Pune Mumbai is being remade in the Punjabi industry, and this film is none other than the much talked about film, and the much awaited movie Chandigarh Amritsar Chandigarh.
‘Chandigarh Amritsar Chandigarh’ unequivocally stars two of the biggest contemporary names in the Punjabi film industry- Gippy Grewal and Sargun Mehta. Other than the lead pair, the movie will also have Rajpal Yadav in a pivotal role. Having earlier done a role in Vijay Kumar Arora’s Ronde Sare Vyah Picho, Yadav will be seen in a Punjabi movie after six years.
Chandigarh Amritsar Chandigarh has been made under the banner of Leostride Entertainment and is being presented by Sumit Dutt and Dreambook. Bankrolled by Sumit Dutt, Anupama Katkar and Eara Dutt, the movie has been directed by Karan R. Guliani, who had earlier directed ‘Sarvann’. The screenplay and the dialogues of the film have been written by the ace writer of the Punjabi industry- Naresh Kathooria, and Jatinder Shah has given the music to the film.
As we have seen that there is increasing proximity between the Punjabi industry and Bollywood, which is evident from the fact that Bollywood is picking up Punjabi songs for most of its movies, and warmly welcoming the Punjabi actors and singers in its films, both the industries come out in support of each other and try to lift one another. The most recent example of this is how big names from Bollywood are trying to promote the Punjabi film Chandigarh Amritsar Chandigarh. Director and producer Karan Johar, and the top B-town ladies- Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and Sunny Leone have come forward to support the film.

The stars filmed videos, encouraging the fans to watch the film. The cherry on the cake was that how they tried to sweetly convey the message by speaking in Punjabi. It is heartwarming to see Bollywood celebrities, pouring in immense support for regional films, especially Punjabi releases.

Chandigarh Amritsar Chandigarh, will release on 24 May 2019 and will be distributed worldwide by the renowned Omjee Group. The film which is a romantic comedy, is going to be based on a fresh concept and will serve something new to the audience. The trailer and the songs of the films are recieving an overwhelming response and the fans are super excited for the movie.
