British Columbia honours Kanwar Grewal for promoting Punjabi Language and Sufi Music

Renowned Punjabi singer Kanwar Grewal who has created a niche for himself when it comes to sufi singing is honoured by the Parliament of British Columbia in Canada in recognition of his exceptional contribution to Punjabi language and music as a Sufi singer.

Punjabi Sufi singer Grewal was honored by honourable John Horgan (Premier of British Columbia) and Surrey-Fleetwood’s MLA Jagrup Brar at British Columbia’s capital City of Victoria Assembly on House Floor. Grewal is on his second tour of Canada being presented by Leo Entertainment. He will be back in May. Grewal who is a post graduate in music from Punjabi University, Patiala is a native of village Mehma Swai in district Bathinda. Kanwar Grewal has put his foot in the music world with ‘Akhan’ album in 2013.

After that, ‘Jogi Nath’, ‘Na Jayi Mastan De Vehde’, ‘Saayian di kanjri’, ‘Toomba’, ‘Challa’ and many other songs are popular among audience. Kanwar has a huge fan following not only in Punjab but also outside country. Continuing this journey he is going to USA, Australia and NewZealand Tours this year. This act of honour is not only for Kanwar Grewal but for all the punjabis and music lovers out there.
