Chandigarh: Music producer Bunty Bains has publicly shared screenshots of private conversations in an effort to counter fresh allegations made by the family of late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.
The move follows renewed claims by Moosewala’s father regarding pending payments and the alleged unauthorised handling of unreleased songs. Addressing the controversy, Bains asserted that “transparency is the only solution” and urged all parties to make contracts, royalty breakdowns, and financial statements accessible to clear the air.
The screenshots released by Bains reportedly capture exchanges between him and Shabir Momin of One Digital Entertainment. According to the producer, the conversations are intended to demonstrate that due process was followed in financial dealings related to Moosewala’s music catalogue.
In a statement, Bains maintained that he has conducted all professional engagements in good faith and has nothing to conceal. He emphasized that public speculation and partial narratives only add to confusion, and insisted that a full disclosure of agreements and royalty records would provide clarity.
The dispute resurfaced after Moosewala’s family raised concerns about outstanding earnings and the use of previously unreleased material. While tensions have played out in the public domain, Bains said he remains willing to cooperate with authorities and appear before any forum if required.
The late singer, whose music continues to command a global audience, remains a towering figure in Punjabi music. As the disagreement unfolds, calls for greater financial transparency and documentation appear to be at the heart of the ongoing debate.
