Under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Anita Kaushal, Principal of PGGCG-11-Chd, Department of Botany organized a lecture cum workshop on CANCER AWARENESS on 10th Nov, 2017 as a part of Cancer Awareness Programme from 9th -11th Nov, 2017. A team headed by Prof.(Dr) Sushmita Ghosal, HOD, Department of Radio Therapy, PGI other faculty members along with the students visited the college for Cancer Awareness Campaign.
Dr. Renu Madan delivered a lecture on Breast Cancer and Cervix Cancer to UG and PG students. In her lecture she sensitized the students about the early signs and symptoms of these two types of cancers and how these can be prevented at an early intervention. Lecture was followed by an interactive session by Dr. Sushmita Ghosal, HOD in which she answered various queries of the students regarding the topic.
Props and display boards showing symptoms and preventive measures of different types of cancers as Colon Cancer, Cervix Cancer, Breast Cancer and Oral Cancers were displayed. The lecture cum workshop was very informative and about 20 faculty members and 100 students attended this event.
The awareness program was concluded by Vote of thanks by Ms. Inderveena Sharma, HOD Botany Department.
