Celebrating 10 years of Jag Jeondeyan De Mele: Punjabi Mania celebrates a decade of super-hit Punjabi movie named ‘Jag Jeondeyan De Mele’.
On this day in 2009, a comparatively younger Punjabi film industry received a movie which is till date appreciated by the audiences in both Punjab and overseas. Titled ‘Jag Jeondeyan De Mele’, the movie went on to become one of the biggest hits of the year.
Apart from just the movie, the project also gifted a director to the Punjabi industry who went on to direct the biggest blockbusters of his times a few years later. Baljeet Singh Deo, who made his directorial debut with Jag Jeondeyan De Mele, is one of the top-notch contemporary names in the field of direction. Other than directing it, Deo had also edited the movie and co-written its script.
The movie had witnessed singer-turned-actor Harbhajan Mann and Bollywood actress Tulip Joshi play the lead roles. Apart from them the movie starred Gurpreet Ghuggi, Puneet Issar, Shavinder Mahal, Sunita Dhir, Gulzar Inder Chahal, Neeta Mohindra and others.
Jag Jeondeyan De Mele is an age-old phrase which means that till the time you are alive, you can meet someone irrespective of how hard the circumstances had been in the past. As the title suggests, the story revolved around the same subject where the protagonists were separated but ended up meeting eventually.
On the back of stellar performances from the leading pair in Maan and Joshi, the film was well supported by the other actors in Ghuggi, Issar, Mahar, Dhir, Chahal and Mohindra.
The movie was produced by Gulzar Inder Chahal, Harbhajan Maan, Gurwinderpal Sanghera and Surinder Sanghera under the banners of Music Waves and H&M Productions. Ksshitij Chaudhary, who is another one of the leading directors in the Punjabi industry at the moment, was the associate director in the movie.
