Punjabi cinema has created history yet again as “Chal Mera Putt-4” has stormed the global box office, making record-breaking collections on its very first day. In Australia, the film has outperformed Diljit Dosanjh’s “Sardaar Ji-3” and also left behind two major Hindi releases – “Son of Sardar-2” and “Dhadak-2.”
According to media reports, every single show of “Chal Mera Putt-4” in Australia has been running housefull, showcasing a phenomenal response rarely seen for a Punjabi film in the region. Experts believe this overwhelming success marks the return of mass hysteria for Punjabi cinema overseas.
Produced under the banner of Rhythm Boyz Entertainment, the film is also generating massive anticipation in India. However, the film was unable to be released in India as it didn't get permission from the CBFC.
Traditionally, Punjabi films have been considered a niche market when compared to big-budget Hindi films, but “Chal Mera Putt-4” is proving to be an exception, breaking this long-standing myth.
Alongside its Australian success, the film’s impressive performance has begun in several other international markets as well.
