Fresh off his standout performance in the T20 Asia Cup, India’s rising cricket sensation Abhishek Sharma was in Ludhiana on Tuesday to celebrate a personal milestone — the pre-wedding ceremony of his sister, Komal Sharma.

The ceremony, held at a private venue in the city, was attended by close family and friends. Komal is set to marry a Ludhiana-based businessman in Amritsar on October 3. Among those who accompanied Abhishek was former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, whose presence added to the buzz, with fans crowding outside for pictures and autographs.

Abhishek, who was recently named Player of the Tournament in the Asia Cup, received a warm welcome at the event, with admirers praising his explosive batting performances that helped India clinch the title.

His father and childhood coach, Raj Kumar Sharma, reflected on his son’s cricketing journey, recalling that Abhishek was originally being trained as a spinner. “We focused on spin early on, but with time, it became clear his natural flair was with the bat,” he said. “His growth as an opening batsman in the T20 format has been incredible. He’s shown maturity, adaptability, and a hunger to improve.”
