Indian cricketer Rinku Singh and Samajwadi Party Member of Parliament Priya Saroj got engaged in a beautiful ceremony held in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday. Taking to Instagram, Rinku shared a heartfelt note with his fans, expressing, “This day has been in our hearts for so long, almost three years, and the wait was worth every second. Engaged, with full hearts and a forever to go.”

The engagement was attended by several political dignitaries and prominent figures from the cricketing world, making it a star-studded event.

While Rinku continues to shine in the T20 format for India, he is still awaiting a regular spot in the ODI squad. He has played just two ODIs so far but boasts an impressive domestic List-A record, 1,899 runs in 52 innings at an average of 48.69 and a strike rate of 94.8, including one century and 17 fifties.

In T20 Internationals, Rinku has made a mark with 546 runs in 33 matches, averaging 42.00 with a strike rate of 161.06. He has three half-centuries under his belt and made his international T20 debut against Ireland in 2023.

Rinku has also been a vital part of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he has played 59 matches and scored 1,099 runs at a strike rate of 145.20, including four half-centuries.

As the 27-year-old embarks on a new chapter off the field with his engagement to Priya Saroj, fans and well-wishers from both cricket and political spheres have poured in their blessings for the couple’s future.
