Jalandhar: The manager of noted Sufi and Bollywood singer Master Saleem has approached the police after allegedly receiving a death threat through a WhatsApp call, triggering concern within the artist’s circle.
Josh, who handles professional engagements for the singer, reported that he was contacted from an unidentified number earlier this week. According to his complaint, the caller warned him that his “days are very less,” and threatened to kill him. While the initial call was dismissed as a prank, repeated attempts and unusual activity prompted him to seek police intervention.
Unlike many extortion-related cases, the caller is not believed to have made any monetary demands. Instead, the threats were reportedly direct and explicit, causing alarm among the manager’s family members and associates.
Following the complaint, local police initiated an inquiry. Officials said they are examining call detail records and working with technical teams to trace the origin of the WhatsApp calls. Efforts are underway to identify the individual behind the number and determine the motive.
Police authorities have assured that the matter is being treated seriously and that the person responsible will be tracked down. Further legal steps will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
Master Saleem, known for his powerful Sufi renditions and playback work in Hindi cinema, has not issued a public statement on the incident so far.
