The Delhi High Court has directed that links to a controversial song associated with Yo Yo Honey Singh be taken down from social media and content-sharing platforms, citing concerns over its explicit and derogatory content.
The track, reportedly dating back to 2006–07 and linked to both Honey Singh and Badshah, has come under judicial scrutiny for its lyrics, which the court observed to be offensive and disrespectful towards women.
In its remarks, the court underscored that freedom of artistic expression cannot be used as a shield for content that promotes obscenity or demeans any section of society. It stressed that such material cannot be justified under the guise of creativity or entertainment.
The court has issued notices to the concerned parties and sought their responses on the matter. The case has been scheduled for further hearing on May 7.
The directive is expected to prompt platforms to act swiftly in removing access to the song, as authorities continue to examine the broader implications of objectionable content circulating online.
