Dev Kharoud who is playing the lead role in Punjabi film Rupinder Gandhi the gangster..? is pretty optimistic about his film. Made on the life of a controversial figure Rupinder Gandhi, the film will be releasing tomorrow (i.e. Sept 11, 2015).
Speaking to Punjabi Mania Dev said, “It’s the first time in Punjabi Film Industry that a biopic has been made. We have made the film after diligently researching on his life for 2 years.”
The director Tarn Mann who lives nearby Khanna, the birthplace of Rupinder Gandhi talked to the latter’s family members and decided to make the film only after getting the permission from them. All the artists in the film belong to theatre.
Dev said, “My character of Rupinder Gandhi is of a person who has been persecuted by people and he has pledged that he will not let anyone suffer the fate he himself has suffered.”
The actor added that they have very honestly portrayed the life of Rupinder Gandhi on the canvas. The title of the film has a question mark behind, it is for the audience to judge if he was a good person or a gangster. To provide a realistic look, the film was shot at several locations throughout Punjab where the incidents had actually occurred.
With a good response to trailer and a decent talking about on Social Media, Dev is confident about his film.
