Rupinder Gandhi Series fame actor Dev Kharoud, is known as the action hero of the Punjabi industry. The actor is leaving no stone unturned to treat the audience by making quality content and by doing fresh and different cinema. From playing a goon to a drug addict, Dev Kharoud has never shied away from experimenting with his roles. After playing a spectrum of different characters, the actor is all set to play a cop on the silver screen, in his upcoming film, ‘DSP Dev’. With this film, Dev Kharoud is stepping into a new genre, after doing many films based on gangsters like Dakuaan Da Munda, Rupinder Gandhi series and Blackia
Kharoud will be seen playing the character of a DSP in the movie. Bollywood has had many successful cop based films like Dabangg Series, Singham, Simbaa and many more and the with this film, the Punjabi film industry is also gearing up to try it’s hands in this theme. Like Bollywood and other Regional Film Industries, Punjabi industry has also started experimenting with themes, genres and concepts and is coming up with films based on the police and cops. Another upcoming film ‘Singham‘ starring Parmish Verma, is also based on a similar concept and will soon hit the cinemas. Films based on such themes are enjoyed by the audience as they have all the elements from action to drama and also contain comedy and romance. Such films are mostly complete family entertainers.
The movie has been directed by Mandeep Benipal and will be presented by Dream Reality Films, Ravneet Chahal and the White Hill Studios. Besides Dev Kharoud, the movie will also feature Manav Vij, Girija Shankar, Neeta Mohindra, Shavinder Mahal, Tarsem Paul and Aman Dhaliwal. Telugu actress Mehreen Pirzada, who had made her Bollywood debut in the year 2017 with Anushka Sharma’s film Phillauri, will make her Punjabi industry debut with this film.
The film will hit the screens on 5 July and will be distributed worldwide by the White Hill Studios. The trailer of the film suggests that the movie will be dark, intense and very different from the regular Punjabi cinema. The fans are eagerly looking forward to the film.
