Dil Tainu Karda Ae Pyaar the film which opened this weekend on November 2, 2012 did not carry any star power on its shoulders other than the fact that they story of the film was penned by Dheeraj Rattan. The film also did not have any Bankable stars to its credit and neither did it have any great music to pull in the masses.
All of this affected the films performance and the film failed to perform well at the Box-Office in its opening weekend. No doubt that the film had competition coming its way not only from Bollywood films but also from Hollywood in the form of Skyfall which is a part of a 50 years old successful franchise, 007 James Bond.
But even in the past, Punjabi films have competed well against Bollywood and Hollywood films. Jatt and Juliet, Dharti and Carry On Jatta being the biggest and best of examples.
Talking about the weekend business of the film, the film was released on limited shows all over Punjab and even the theatrical count wasn’t that great. Even the audiences stayed away from the film. As per our prediction the weekend business is somewhere around Rs. 35-45 Lakhs nett.
