With thousands of fans expected to attend Diljit Dosanjh’s concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi on October 30, the singer has urged concertgoers to use public transport, particularly the Metro, as parking facilities at the venue are unavailable.
Responding to the expected rush, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced extended operating hours across its network to help spectators travel to and from the concert without difficulty.
Under the special arrangements, Metro services on all lines, except the Airport Express Line and Rapid Metro Gurugram, will operate until midnight on Friday. Additional train trips will be introduced to manage the post-concert crowd, while standby trains will remain available to handle any unexpected increase in passenger numbers.
Extra staff and security at Metro stations
The DMRC has also planned additional arrangements at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Metro Station and key interchange stations. More customer service staff and Customer Facilitation Agents will be deployed to assist passengers, guide them through stations and regulate movement during peak hours.
Security measures will also be strengthened at the stadium’s Metro station. Additional security personnel, Door Frame Metal Detectors and enhanced screening arrangements will be put in place to ensure orderly entry and passenger safety.
The QR ticket purchase facility on the Delhi Metro Sarthi mobile application will also remain available for an additional hour in line with the extended train timings.
Around 70,000 spectators expected
The concert, part of Dosanjh’s ‘Aura India Tour 2026’, is expected to draw approximately 70,000 people to the stadium. JLN Stadium Metro Station, located on the Violet Line connecting Kashmere Gate and Raja Nahar Singh, is the closest station to the concert venue.
Given the expected attendance and lack of parking facilities, the Metro is likely to be a major transport option for concertgoers.
The DMRC has appealed to visitors to rely on Metro services for a convenient and safer journey, while helping reduce traffic congestion and dependence on private vehicles. The extended services are intended to make the movement of spectators smoother, particularly after the concert concludes.
