Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh addressed ongoing controversies during his live performance in Edmonton, speaking candidly about the criticism he has been receiving from different quarters.
During the show, Dosanjh said he has been labelled differently depending on where he goes—being called a “Khalistani” abroad while facing accusations of being overly pro-India back home. Referring to the backlash over his public appearances with leaders such as Narendra Modi and actor Amitabh Bachchan, he noted that some groups have even staged protests against him.
Despite the criticism, the artist expressed confidence in his journey, stating that such reactions only reinforce his belief that he is on the right path. He also shared a lighter moment, saying that hearing young fans enthusiastically chant “Punjabi aa gaye oye” wherever he travels brings him immense joy and pride.
The remarks, delivered in an unfiltered manner during the concert, have since gone viral on social media, sparking widespread discussion among fans and observers.
