Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh received official recognition in the Australian Senate for his record-breaking Aura Tour, a milestone moment for Punjabi music and culture on the global stage.
Senator Paul Scarr praised Diljit’s achievements, highlighting how the tour brought people together through the universal language of music. “His work continues to represent Punjabi culture with pride, connecting communities worldwide,” he said.
Diljit became the first Indian artist to headline major Australian stadiums, including Sydney’s CommBank Stadium and Melbourne’s AAMI Park. The Melbourne show, which saw a full house, marked a significant achievement for Indian and Punjabi artists abroad.
The tour also carried a deeper message of unity. Speaking to fans during his performances, Diljit reminded audiences that “it doesn’t matter where we come from, we are all one,” reflecting the Sikh principle of Ik Onkaar — the belief in the oneness of all.
Following shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth, the Aura Tour builds on the global success of Diljit’s Dil-Luminati Tour, which had previously set records in London and Canada, cementing his position as a global ambassador of Punjabi music.
