Diljit Dosanjh Drops BTS Clip from ‘Border 2’, Silences Exit Rumours Amid Controversy

0% Liked

Ending days of speculation, Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh has put all rumours of his exit from Border 2 to rest by sharing a behind-the-scenes (BTS) video straight from the film’s set. This comes amidst mounting criticism over his film Sardaar Ji 3, which features Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, and calls for his removal from the much-anticipated war drama.

In the viral BTS clip posted to his Instagram today, Diljit can be seen suited up in character, with the iconic track “Ke Ghar Kab Aoge” from the original Border playing in the background. The energetic dance sequence, filled with extras and crew in celebration mode, seems to be from the ongoing schedule in Pune, signaling that production is very much active, with Diljit still very much part of it.

Rumours Swirling Amid Sardaar Ji 3 Row

Ever since the trailer of Sardaar Ji 3 dropped on June 22, Dosanjh has faced a wave of backlash, particularly from sections of the industry and political outfits upset over the inclusion of a Pakistani actor following the Pahalgam terror attack. Amid this, reports began suggesting that the singer-actor had been dropped from Border 2.

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) even wrote a letter to Sunny Deol, urging him to reconsider working with anyone associated with the film Sardaar Ji 3. They called on Deol to uphold national sentiment and disassociate from "controversial" collaborators.

However, a source close to the film’s production debunked these reports, telling NDTV, “The news about his replacement is not true. His casting was done 9 months ago. And we have already finished 50% of the shoot.”

Border 2: An Anticipated Sequel

Border 2 is the sequel to JP Dutta’s 1997 cult classic Border. The film stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Diljit Dosanjh in pivotal roles. The current schedule in Pune marks the third major phase of production, with much of the cast involved in action-packed and emotionally intense scenes.

Silence Broken with Swagger

With the new BTS video, Diljit appears to be taking the high road — choosing not to directly respond to criticism, but instead letting visuals speak louder than words. Fans flooded the post with support, praising the actor for his poise amid controversy.

As Border 2 marches ahead with filming, Diljit Dosanjh’s post sends a clear message, he’s here to stay.
