Diljit Dosanjh Faces Another Threat Amid Rising Tensions Over Overseas Concerts

0% Liked

Punjabi superstar and international performer Diljit Dosanjh has received yet another threat, marking the third in a series of warnings over the past few days. The latest development comes just a day after pro-Khalistan slogans of “Khalistan Zindabad” were raised during his live concert in Perth, Australia.

According to reports, pro-Khalistani elements have now issued fresh threats targeting Diljit’s upcoming concert in Auckland, New Zealand. In a social media post, Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, a key figure associated with the banned outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), allegedly warned that he would ensure the singer’s overseas events are disrupted and urged supporters to mobilize against them.

Despite the growing controversy, Diljit has maintained his composure. Addressing fans, the Amar Singh Chamkila star reportedly said he intends to continue spreading “love and positivity through music” and will not allow intimidation to affect his work or connection with audiences worldwide.

Perth Concert Incident

During his performance in Perth on Saturday, the atmosphere briefly turned tense when a group of attendees began chanting pro-Khalistan slogans. Eyewitnesses said a few individuals even made their way near the stage before security personnel swiftly intervened and restored order. Unfazed, Diljit continued his show, earning applause from the massive crowd for his professionalism and calm response.

The Origin of the Dispute

The controversy first erupted late last month after Diljit’s appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 with Amitabh Bachchan. During the episode, the singer was seen touching Bachchan’s feet — a traditional Indian gesture of respect. The act, however, drew criticism from pro-Khalistan factions, who accused him of disrespecting the victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

Following the incident, the SFJ issued a public warning to Dosanjh on October 29, claiming he had “insulted Sikh sentiments” and instructing him to avoid any association with the Bollywood veteran. Diljit later clarified that his gesture was purely out of reverence and that he was not collaborating on any project with Amitabh Bachchan.

Pattern of Threats Against Artists

This latest threat adds to a worrying pattern of intimidation targeting prominent entertainment figures. In recent months, actors like Salman Khan have also faced similar warnings, prompting authorities to heighten security for several high-profile stars.

Sources suggest law enforcement agencies are keeping a close watch on the matter, particularly ahead of Diljit’s scheduled international shows. Authorities in New Zealand are reportedly reviewing security arrangements for the singer’s upcoming Auckland performance.

As fans continue to rally behind him, Diljit remains steadfast in his message of unity. “Music brings people together,” he said in a recent statement. “I believe in spreading peace, not fear.”

The singer’s calm defiance in the face of repeated threats has only strengthened his global fan base, many of whom have praised him for standing tall against attempts to divide through intimidation.
