Diljit Dosanjh Hails Govinda’s Comic Timing, Says ‘No Artist Like Him’

Mumbai: Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh has expressed his admiration for Bollywood veteran Govinda, calling him a one-of-a-kind performer whose comic timing remains difficult to match.

During an Instagram Live session, Diljit spoke warmly about the actor and said he believes there may never be another artist quite like Govinda. Praising his effortless screen presence and impeccable sense of timing, Diljit said he holds immense love and respect for the veteran star.

“There is no artist like Govinda and might never be. I love him. No one can match his timings. I wish I could have worked with him,” Diljit said during the interaction.

Govinda, known for his distinctive comic style, dancing skills and impeccable timing, has been one of the most recognisable entertainers in Hindi cinema. His performances in films such as Coolie No. 1, Hero No. 1, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Partner have earned him a lasting place among Bollywood's most popular comedy stars.

Diljit's comments also underline the influence Govinda continues to have on performers from different generations. While Diljit has carved out his own identity through Punjabi music, films and high-energy performances, his appreciation for Govinda reflects the veteran actor's enduring appeal.

The possibility of Diljit and Govinda sharing the screen is something the Punjabi star himself appears to have wished for, although he admitted that he never got the opportunity to work with the actor.
